User Interface: — for me is about creating ease of use. I strive to find simple interface solutions that fit the content. I have been a graphic designer for most of my career. My goal is to become a well-rounded designer that does the conceptual design and interactive design.
User Experience: — for me is more than just creating a rich experience for users. I love being able to talk to people about my designs ultimately understanding their expectations and perspective.
My Background and Story
Nate is a US based designer specializing in UI/UX Design, Web Design, Graphic Design, Branding, and User Experience. Nate loves to write and often writes blog posts which can be found on: Massvio, Nutarian, NOWEAR, Wendy Bantam, AS&B, and this website.
I got my start designing while drawing comic books in my teens. Once I realized that a career as a comic book illustrator was out of reach – I became interested in design and started to explore education opportunities. While in high school I took a class which taught me some basics in design. A couple years after high school I found the best bang for the buck education at a community college and graduated with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design.
I was hungry to learn web design and in 1999 I bought my first domain and built snet – Settlers.net. I continued to work as a print designer until I felt confident that I could apply for web design jobs. After working for a few small companies and not wanting to leave Lincoln, I set out to build my first portfolio website and start freelancing in 2005.
Between 2005-07 I mainly built websites for short term clients until in mid 2007 I landed my first long term client. Since then I have been adding clients to my roster. I consider myself highly motivated and very loyal. I believe my clients can vouch for my dedication.
